The company was founded in 1999 by Oliver Butt, formerly of Salomon Brothers, Henry Keller and Mark Littlejohn both from Bank of America. Since then the company has expanded and has developed a niche in distressed debt as well as the conventional bond markets and now employs twelve highly experienced dealers, servicing institutional clients in a range of instruments from illiquid Eurobonds through to the repackaging and securitisation of secondary market loans.

Under this agreement, Pershing undertakes to honour transactions we strike in the market and therefore becomes the counterparty to our clients. Pershing is fully owned by Bank of New York, which is rated Aa2 by Moody's.
